A beginner’s guide to tracking your crypto portfolio with the Blockfolio app (now FTX) – funding, tracking, news, rewards
When beginning your journey into investing and trading in crypto, how to keep track of your investments is almost as important as which coins you decide to invest. There are several platforms available to track the market; in this article, we will look at how to track your crypto portfolio using Blockfolio (now FTX).
Update by Staff: This article was originally written with instructions for using Blockfolio which is now FTX; however, most of the instructions here have not changed much if any at the time of update – August 6, 2021
Getting Started with the FTX App
The FTX app is available for Android and iOS; an account is unnecessary to use FTX but opening a free account opens up more features. Once you have created your free account, you have the option to buy digital assets in the FTX app. Similar to PayPal, FTX allows users to buy, hold, and sell crypto within the app.
Funding Your Portfolio
To fund your account, options for depositing to FTX are bank transfer, credit/debit card, wire transfer, USDC, and cryptocurrencies. Currently, the only options to withdraw funds from FTX are bank transfer, USDC, TUSD, and wire transfer.
Tracking the Crypto Market
You don’t need to add funds to use FTX, the app is open from the start, and you can create and track crypto portfolios. FTX database contains a large variety of digital assets that you can add to your portfolio. When tracking the markets, you can either use a broad approach and follow the specific coins based on their current market value or track the coins based on how much you currently hold versus the market value.
Once your portfolio is ready, you can go into each coin and see its performance over various time frames: 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, and 1 year. If you haven’t already, you can add transactions to your portfolio from the main portfolio page or within each coin’s data page.
In addition to tracking crypto portfolios, other features FTX includes are a news and signal stream that includes the latest developments in blockchain and digital assets.
